3rd Post: Academic Challenges in 2022
There are several
changes that I think should be made to the “Musical Interpretation” career.
Currently the musical
interpretation career consists of the following subjects: Harmony, History of
Art, History of Music, Practice together, Main Instrument, Chamber Music,
Aesthetics, Ensemble Guide, seminars, CFG, English, etc. however there are
unnecessary subjects, for example Aesthetics, because the way you teach and
learn is not the best.
The teaching of theory
should be semestral and not annual, there are subjects that do not give for an
annual extension, for example History Seminar.
Given this situation,
there are some issues that could be modified and improve the situation.
First, the duration of
the career, is 8 to 9 years, you could easily get the title at 5 years.
Second, the subjects
should be reformed, aiming to prioritize practice with the instrument, over
theoretical subjects.
Third, professional
practice should be in a professional symphony orchestra and not be a
non-existent subject.
Also, the faculty
should be modernized urgently, applying technology for the creation of scores,
workshops of new technologies, Instances in which students can participate
digitally, manage spaces to perform concerts several times a year, etc.
It would also be good
if in our faculty, we had more concerts, green areas, that the casino worked on
a regular form, took advantage of the spaces.
Finally, our faculty
is very old, so it is urgent that it be modernized in infrastructure and
spaces, technological rooms and modern pianos, but for now, all this is a
dream, but hopefully in the future it may be possible...
